Nick (He/Him)
TRUSTEE & TREASURER
I’m a Bristolian and have lived in Shirehampton since 1995. Both my son and daughter attended St Bernard’s Primary School. I worked in local NHS finance for 37 years and retired in July 2023.
I love the sense of community in Shirehampton and hope that as a trustee I can contribute to this continuing for all in our area. You may often see me litter picking and I love the feeling of giving back to the village.
I played for a Bristol rugby club for 25 years and was on the club committee for 24 of those years. After I stopped playing, I became the Club Chairman for 6 years so I know how important volunteers are to achieving success.

MICHELLE (SHE/HER)
TRUSTEE & CO-CHAIR
Born in north Bristol, I’ve been a Shirehampton resident since 2018.
Since moving to the area, I’ve enjoyed the sense of community and the different groups and activities available – many due to the work of Shirehampton Action. Being a trustee means I can contribute to these continuing for all in Shirehampton.
Outside of Shirehampton Action I work in marketing for a not-for-profit tech company, enjoy walking the local area and heading into town for theatre and live music.

LUDO (THEY/THEM)
TRUSTEE & CO-CHAIR
Originally from Malta, I have felt greatly welcomed in Shire since moving here in 2020.
My main focus as a trustee is making sure we’re financially sustainable so that we can continue to deliver for Shirehampton for years to come.
Outside of Shirehampton Action I work on climate change and energy policy and you may spot me walking around Kings Weston with my springer spaniel.

MARK (HE/HIM)
TRUSTEE
Originally from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, I moved to Shirehampton in 2018 after living in Auckland, New Zealand. As a trustee of Shirehampton Action, my main focus is on developing our high street and supporting the local businesses that make our community vibrant and unique.
I’m passionate about being involved in and supporting the local area where I live. Becoming a trustee has given me the opportunity to get to know people and be an engaged member of the community.
As the owner and operator of Ruby Jeans The Parade, I love the village-like atmosphere of Shirehampton, despite it being a suburb of greater Bristol. Outside of Shirehampton Action and my business, I enjoy live music, brewing beer, ice hockey, and spending time with my family. Known for being friendly and approachable, I’m always up for a good chat—though running a business means I can’t chat all day!

KIM (SHE/HER)
TRUSTEE
I’m originally from Avonmouth & went to Avonmouth C of E School (old building & new!) and enjoyed joining in community activities whilst growing up, mainly with St Andrews Church Choir: Carnivals, Singing at Socials and Trips to the Seaside.
Most of my working career was in Avonmouth & Shirehampton until having to take early retirement due to health reasons in 2017. Being third (at least) generation Shirehampton I am committed to getting Shirehampton on the map and making it a better place for us all to live.
I am passionate about my dog and having places we can go together as well as making Shirehampton more Disability Friendly especially in regard to transport, living arrangements and residents being able to have their say. By becoming a Shirehampton Action Trustee I hope to encourage others to get more involved in our village and make it how we want, a place we can all enjoy living and working.

MONA (SHE/HER)
TRUSTEE
Born in Finland, I’ve lived in many places throughout my life but happily settled down in Shirehampton in 2021. The Shire’s strong sense of community have made it easy to fall in love with the village, and I wanted to contribute in some way to making it an even better place to live.
Outside of Shirehampton Action, I work in marketing and communications for an architecture practice, which naturally means I’m interested in placemaking and how to strengthen it within a community.
I enjoy going for runs around Shirehampton and exploring its green spaces, often noticing the small details that make a place feel welcoming!
I get to see first hand the fantastic projects and activities happening in our neighbourhood and contribute to them continuing. Commitment to the role is what you’re able to give and in the area you’re interested in. I encourage everyone to get in touch to find out more.
THANK YOU TO OUR FUNDERS
